Whoa.
Had a birthday this weekend, but more importantly, had a party this weekend, which I will now explain to you because it may just have been the coolest party in the history of MANKIND and possibly the L33test one ever. So yeah.
2 PS2s. A Dreamcast. Pizza and chips. Funny videos. Dance Dance Revolution (with dance pads). Dead or Alive 2. SSX. House of the Dead 2. And more caffeine and sugar than you can shake a cat at. Add a Game Cube, a N64, and an X-Box, and THERE, my friend, you would have Heaven on Earth (despite what those morons in the band Warrant might tell you about it being centered around a person or anything).
But yeah. It was phenomenal. Games, friends, food, and a lot of L33Tness. Even Lem "Hot Soup" Pew (of Winter and Lethal Doses fame - and a very keen guy) and his buddy Matt "Kuzma" Kuzma were there for a while, and that ruled too. And each gave me a present: Lem promised to pimp us (meaning the comic, dammit, the COMIC) on his site, and Matt delivered to me one of the best backrubs known to Man. Jeepers. And it was excellent to watch Lem get his Tekken Tag thang on and take some of my Mac homies to the mat and knock them down (although they gave their share of whoopinz', too). Much L33tness I sense in this one. And there's nothing like hearing a whole room of gamers shriek "WANG! Play as WANG!!" Yippee. We've all agreed it should happen again, and again, and hey, then some more. Let's see how much we can get the school to pay for...and hell, fans out there (all four of you), why not, you're invited. Come display your coolness to the Macalester Crowd.
I should make special mention of a particular game we all got into playing just a little bit too late in the party, which is some crazy little number called "Samba de amigo" (or something very much like) which consists of a frightening monkey in a sombrero jumping around and posing. Think Dance Dance Revolution...only with maracas. And in my opinion, there just need to be more games involving maracas, just like (as my peeps at Penny Arcade said) there need to be more things filled with cream. I could not agree more.
A little clearing-up of any possible confusion the last comic may have caused, featured here in helpful list form:
1. Blue does not watch Sailor Moon on a regular basis.
2. She was only watching it then to add insult to Max's injury, and prove Duo was completely wussified and under her control.
3. Blue only watches *good* anime.
4. Blue does NOT watch Sailor Moon, dammit.
And there you have it.
Well, thanks to a recent e-mail letting me know that Kyrene School District in Tempe, AZ had to make big budget cuts recently, I'm out of a job for Winter Break - the karmic equivalent of saying "Ho-ho-ho NO JOB FOR YOU, BITCH." I'd really detest going back to work retail (particularly because NO ONE hires after Jan. 3), so I'm looking for someone kind in the Mesa area willing to offer me a high-paying job with few responsibilities. Anyone?
::crickets:: ::small cough in audience::
Um...how about a low-paying job with immense volumes of responsibilities where I'm treated like a brainless monkey? ::sigh:: Or maybe I could attempt to sell my VERY RARE Star Wars: Episode I posters again. Anyone? They're really really rare! And quite valuable! Did I mention they're rare?
Anywhoo...I've got to run. A quick warning that next Tuesday's comic (i.e. Christmas Day) might come a little early, but next Friday's will be on time. You know, it's the whole holiday thingy, and Web-Guy Josiah not being anywhere near a computer during then puts a bit of a blink on things. But never ph34r: we'll get things back in gear soon enough, plus perhaps an extra addition to our Art section or whatnot. Be well, everyone.
