Beware the Goombas
April 30, 2002
Wow. What to say, what to say? Maybe that today's comic is the first featured in 4-panel format, perhaps, hmmmmm? It's not a permanent change, only I began to think up things - very *funny*, genuinely clever things - that could not be ideally expressed in the standard format, and thus I figured nobody would mind if I altered the format now and then to fit an appropriate element of funny. So relax: I'm not going all "weird" on you or anything, it's just adaptation, yo. Hope you dig.

Nothing much to note: working hard on the comic, got essays coming up that I best get a-workin' on - likely even TONIGHT - and thus it goes. Hard to believe that in about a week and a half I will be free of classes for a few lovely months, and technically a college SENIOR. Yeep, indeed. Just got registered for my fall classes today, in fact: and some fun group of high school seniors - Macalester first-years-to-be - are going to be precepted by *yours truly* next semester. Envy them. Or pity them, as you imagine the case is. *I* think the former, because I think I will be a Merciful Preceptor, full of Patience and Understanding in Capital Letters, but you best believe I will administer a Literary Smackdown if the situation calls for it. Booyah.

Acquired some very clever remixes of various songs recently, and have found some definite hits and misses: luckily more of the former than the latter, as I plan on stocking up some nifty songs for some future Gamer Dance set. Planning ahead for a bitchin' DJ set, that's me. I'm at the moment COMPLETELY stuck on the remix of Final Fantasy VIII's "Eyes on Me" song. Can't stop thinking about it, which is rather sad, because right now I'm in that state where I don't really know many of the words and have only about a quarter of the tune down. So I end up trying to hum it, stopping stupidly, and starting over again because I CAN'T NOT. Seriously. It's too good for it's own... um... good. Or something. If you *can* get it, I recommend that you *do*.

Well, not much more to say here: still loving "Snow Crash" (although now and then it makes my brain start to twitch and wish it understood what was going on a little more clearly), still highly recommend it, waded my way though the first three acts of "Antony and Cleopatra" this afternoon (DEFININTELY not my favorite Shakespeare play), and am setting on as much work as I can handle at once. Making it through, in short. Hope all you out there are doing well, keepin' it real, and the whatnot. Take care, see you on Friday. Beware the homework.

Nothing to it,
Annie "Blue" VM

You savor as I whisper
I love your peaceful eyes on me
Did you ever know
That I had mine on you

- Final Fantasy VIII
"Eyes on Me" (remix)
