Five minutes of free time, that's all I ask, God, five *fucking* minutes of free time...

To put that statement in perspective for you, I'm writing this in the computer lab of my school's library, on finals week. Our ONE PRINTER - where before there were two, one just "mysteriously disappearing" last week - is now broken, and the only one that works is the one this computer is attached to. The one that *I* am attached to. In the time that it took between typing the previous part of this little rant and the last two sentences, I've had to print no less than FIVE papers. It's driving me up the fucking WALL.

Once, the library lab desk was like this little safe haven: where I could do my work, chat with fellow lab assistants, and play the occasional bit of Diablo II. Patrons weren't allowed to cross its magical wooden curvature - like a cell wall, it only allowed us, the hallowed assistants, to move in and out of its expanse. Before the Dark Times... before the Finals Week. Now they swarm in nonstop, getting angry at me - ME! - for not having the magical power to make the print queue move faster because they have class in five minutes. Okay, bud, if this is your FINAL PAPER, and it's worth something like 50% of your grade, why the HELL didn't you try to print it SOONER?!?! ::smack:: And all of this rage can be activated by my repeated annoyance at patrons reaching across my face and popping their disks out while the bloody disk light was on. Didn't they teach us, back when we were supposed to first be using computers back in first grade, NEVER EVER EVER to do that? Kids these days ::shakes head in dejection::

::sigh:: Sorry about the outburst. Another printer is working now, the Empire is in decline, shall we say, and Annie can think like a normal human being again. This is good.

Saw Spiderman on Friday. Four little words about it: Best. Fucking. Movie. EVER. I'm not going to budge on this one. No way. Actually found someone who didn't like it, and ooooo BOY was she lucky she knew me, or I'd have laid the smack down like you wouldn't believe. I can't even begin to explain why this movie is so good because it defies description. If I *tried*, I'd end up doing the same thing I've BEEN doing since Friday night: attempt to describe it in a rational manner, start using curse words of exclamation and related superlatives, start using sound effects and rapid hand motions to accentuate my points, and end up jumping around and screeching in joy like a moron. Just take my word for it and see it RIGHT NOW. No, I *don't* care if you've seen it already. If you were a *REAL* Spiderman-fan you wouldn't have a *problem* with seeing it again, like myself. If I, say, had it on DVD right now, and I just finished watching it, I'd sit back with a little contented sigh, get myself some new snackies, and WATCH IT AGAIN. I know I'm a freak. But you'd be too if you *TRULY* understood the awesome beauty and power of this film. Hot diggity damn.

Okay, there is one negative point to this movie, ONLY in that because I'm in a story arc right now and don't want to mess with my continunity, I can't do a comic about it RIGHT AWAY. But I'll make that up to you - trust me - with not one but TWO comics about it next week. Mark my words. And you can cover me with webbing if I lie. Go ahead.

You readers out there might be just a TEENSY bit concerned with Web Guy Josiah and my ability to keep up the comic during our move from Minnesota to Arizona in just about two weeks, but have no fear. Finals for me will be over soon (GAH! SOOOO SOON!), and that precious free time I shall use to making many new comics in advance, so I am not without backup in the transitional state. And even if Josiah and I can't get those comics up, we've got sources - CONNECTIONS, dig - that might be able to assist us in case of emergency. Yeah, we gotz the hook-up. So never fear: Blue will STILL be here. We wouldn't abandon you.

Well, I think that's it for me, for now, but take care of yourselves (especially my Macalester peeps who are suffering in kind under the cruel grip of finals) and enjoy the life.

With great power...

Just so everyone knows, I agree with Annie, Spiderman is the best movie I have ever seen. Hot Damn. I would consider scouring the internet for a cammed version just so that I can watch it any time I want...except that it wouldn't do the movie justice. I may buy a DVD player for my computer this summer, just for spiderman when it comes out on DVD in like a year.
Hey...EP2 is coming out in a week and a half. W00t. I really hope it's good. Only if it is good will I be able to wait for Matrix 2 that is supposed to be coming out either December 2002 or summer 2003, and Matrix 3 which is supposed to come out August 2003. I understand that perfection takes time, but I still want some more Matrix lovin'.
