A Sexy Piece of Hardware?
May 24, 2002
How's that for funny? You're reading this at a computer somewhere, and I'm likely cruising along the highway with Web Guy Josiah in a van packed to the brim with all of our respective crap, heading along our way from Minnesota to Arizona. Not funny ha-ha - because our trip (with us being low on the bling-bling) isn't gonna allow us to use showers until we reach our destination - but funny WEIRD. Guess I should've just said "weird" to begin with, but hey, that's just not how we DO things here, dig? Yeah.

Don't want to get anyone (too) offended - but that Bikini Summer 2002 thing at Keenspot is totally real, and I just think it's the epitome of stupid. It's not precisely pimping your characters out, but hell, I don't like it all the same. It's not a plot thing for the characters to be out there in these teeny little pieces of clothing, it's just for SHOW (which is pretty fucking scary in some cases, with the cast of "Avalon" supposedly in their high-school years and the "smoldering cheetah temptresses" upon which Tycho of PA visited such scorn), and for some reason that just makes me feel funny - in the BAD way. If Blue ever slips into a neat little two-piece, there's gonna be a purpose to it, and good luck making her ever make a public appearance in the thing (she's SHY about her body, okay?). ::sigh:: But I like the fact that the first people to show some skin in my comic are Max and Derec. Ha-ha.

Too few women webcomic artists out there, I think, and this whole "Bikini" thing just reminds me of that fact. Thanks to you readers out there who support me (even though I lack a wang): it really does mean a lot. Whoop.

It's also a shame I have so little money. We've got to work on that, okay?

::cricket noises::

Oooookay. Forget I said anything.

I've gotta run - likely you can expect a short Friday rant, due to the fact that both Josiah and I will be pretty beat from the trip - but you all take care, be well, and wish the both of us luck (I think we're gonna need it).

On the road again,

So it turns out that we got from Vermillion, Minnesota to Annie's house in Mesa, Arizona in 49 hours from start to finish. Not record time mind you (I have yet to meet anyone who has driven the entire trip in less than 33.5 hours, including sleep, which I did on my way from Mesa to Vermillion), but pretty good considering we had to drive 10 hours at 45 mph because the car was running a bit warm. Expect a full rundown of the events when one of us gets around to it. Oh, and for missing putting this comic up on Tuesday, we'll have some special artwork for you all. Be good,
- Josiah
