A Most Fitting Prediction
June 4, 2002
Can't help these things. This whole messy *continuity* business - can't stop myself from getting embroiled in it (or saying words like "embroiled") for some reason. Maybe because my mind doesn't typically WORK in little snippets of substance, glimpses of funniness at a time. Maybe that's a terrible side-effect of a so-called "beneficial" liberal arts education: prevents you from *ever* seeing anything as being unconnected ever, EVER again.

Or I could just be stupid. I don't think anyone will rule this out.

...At any rate, here's your continuity. Beware where it might lead.

Summer Job Search 2002 continues, with a few possibilities lie on the horizon (or something). Anything over $6.50 an hour that isn't physically or mentally painful would be nice, dealing with books, movies, or computers a plus. Yeeeee.

Just finished the graphic novel (big comic book, to the layman) "Watchmen" by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons. HOLY SHIT. That is some incredible stuff, let me tell you. I get to read it for the first-year course on Superheroes (nyah-nyah-nyah, I get to be in a class about SUPERHEROES, tee hee-hee) that I'm T.A'ing next semester, but good God, if you have $20 lying around for summer reading, run down to a bookstore and GRAB IT. That book alone is a punch to the nads of anyone who believes comics aren't a viable art or literary form. And knowing is half the battle. ::wink:: Yeah. I have about THIRTY more books to read this summer, but eh, I know they're all gonna be great, so I'm not worried ::smile:: Oh, and pick up Michael Chabon's "The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay" too. Once I've finished that, it's on to Stephenson's "Cryptonomicon," hot damn. I'm on my way up or something. Damned if I know where I'm on my way up TO, but yeah. I'm movin'.

Wow. So much stuff to do this summer... but I promised I'd be doing some renovations and the whatnot, so keep your eyes open, and I'll try never to disappoint. Oh, and yeah, new apology art: a little wander in the art section will reveal the character I made for a gameplay system (compatible with the current GURPS system) a friend of mine is working on - she's a con-woman named Jealousy Kyle. Eh, like her or hate her, I think she's pretty cool. Keep checking the Art section: if you're all nice and stuff, you might just see the female Togorian Jedi that I made for the Star Wars game Web Guy Josiah and I are playing in with Skrat... just think of a big, BIG kitty with Force powers and a lightsaber. Boo-YAH. [Not as big as the kitty that was played in our D&D 3rd ed game a few months back, but big enough - web guy Josiah]

Niort. Well, I think that's it for today's adventures... join us next time for some crazy art, wacky hijinks, and free ice cream sundaes (and by that I mean, YOU make them for ME) Sound good? Eh? Eh? ::wink:: See you then.

Sorry the comic and art is a bit late...that is the result of having to get up at 8AM two mornings in a row to bring Annie's pets to the vet. One for a teeth cleaning, the other for a shaving. Not bad, just early...for us. Though considering a couple potential jobs for Annie and myself on the horizon...we may just be getting up early every day...
