Short rant today, folksies: Annie much tired, and verily am I chewing my fingernails down to the pink painful part waiting for this weekend to come. Eeeeeep. Weekend means lovely *sleep* and swimming and fun with friends, all things I've come to miss dearly in the past week.
Thppt.
But yeah. Got home from Bookman's recently - don't know how many of them exist outside ol' Phoenix, but to those of you who've never heard of them, they're giant used-book-magazine-video game -music-movie-etc. stores - with a big bag of fun crap (including no less than five cheap fun paperback sci-fi novels, three Star Wars graphic novels, and - get this - two books of Star Wars MANGA. Whoopee) thanks to my recent discovery of a forgotten $63 credit receipt for that store. All that and I still have $16 to spend and my only beef is that they have no Neal Stephenson novels. I mean, what the HELL. Don't they know I crave Cryptonomicon, and I haven't even ever READ it before?! Sheesh.
Just a word to anyone who rents the Harry Potter DVD: the deleted scenes are in the 2nd disc, and they're fucking DIFFICULT to find, and I mean it. But I think they're worth it to find - being the powerful witchy non-Muggle that I am (and the powerful wizardy non-Muggle that Web Guy Josiah is too). Because I'm nice - and whether or not you care - here's how to get to them:
Go to Diagon Alley: select first the key on the Gringotts sign, then the store itself. Head to Eelyops and check out the owls just for shits n' giggles. Then go to Ollivander's and check out the wands - any wand - and find the one that works for you (I'm betting 3rd time is always the charm, so to speak) [you should try the first one, then it will go to a second one, try that one, then it will go to a third one, that one worked for us - web guy Josiah]
Head to the Classrooms and move to Defense Against the Dark Arts - click on the yellow potion in the round bottle, and it'll say something about the "right potion looking like a full moon." Ponder that and be confused.
Now to Potions. The ingredients for "the draught of the living death" is asphodel and wormwood, the other names for aconite are monkshood and wolfsbane, and the boil cure is dried nettles and snake fangs (I'm pretty sure... the book isn't terribly clear). Just trust me on this. [worse comes to worse, there are only 6 total combinations, we got it on the 4th try - web guy Josiah]
Now the key part. Just like in the movie, get the silver one with the blue wings. This might take a bit.
On to the potions part. It's that same damn yellow one in the circular bottle you've seen before. Click on it already!
Get the stone in the mirror. Don't worry, Voldemort won't pop out at you.
Enjoy your reward (that you didn't have to spend TWO HOURS attempting to find on your own). Yes, you owe me. But enjoy it all the same, they're great scenes ::wink::
I know I ruined the mystery for you, but eh, you'll forgive me, I hope ::hopeful smile:: I hope?
Niort. That's all for the Blue show tonight, people. Tune in on Tuesday for some more wacky action and crazy hijinks - bet you didn't know we had THOSE, did you? Yeah, what can I say? We're full of surprises over here. Take care.
Because we can-can-can,
