Yeah.
Short rant tonight: I must admit I am decidedly lacking in funny right now, and I'm going to be nice and not torment the lot of you by enforcing my brand of replacement humor upon you like trying to feed a pill to my cat (no, really. She scratches, and hawks it back up, man, I'm telling you, it's not pretty). So thus.
::yawn:: These past two days (or so), Web Guy Josiah and I have gotten rather addicted to an old game - and I mean 1993 OLD - called "Syndicate," which you should dig up a 486 just to play, if you haven't played it already. Sure, the game has problems, but it's an excellent game for its time, and I've got to wonder why the hell nobody's made a sequel of it already. I mean, it'd be a pretty easy sequel to do well, too: more customization of cyborg parts, more weaponry and research possibilities, more terrain customization, MUCH better AI and level construction, FAR better ending... you know, the basic mechanics of a good game. Maybe even more wrangling with the other syndicates, perhaps - a little more of the Civilization-type gotta-manage-an-empire thingy - might be a nice addition to the original run-and-gun gameplay. But yeah. Good game. And as the credits show, there's a reason why: Peter Molyneux (of "Black & White" fame, for the layman) had a hand in it. Ah-HA...
Ah, the summer movie season: so many good flicks out there (and more than a handful of shitty ones too, I have to add), with new ones being added every weekend. Nyarg. Makes Annie wish that either 1) movies were a wee bit cheaper to go to or 2) there were better pickings out on the video front. I mean, think about it. If you don't want to see "The Others," "Black Hawk Down," or "The Majestic," you're pretty much out of luck. I think I'm actually better off attempting to scan MTV for the particular time they decide to replay the MTV 2002 Movie Awards (which I conveniently missed most of, dammit - I can't stand that bloody Buffy chick, but Jack Black is definitely a demigod in the Blue pantheon). Or I could attempt to convince someone kind with DSL to snag me some more Invader Zim episodes. I think I want Gir as a pet or something. Hell, courtesy of the pilot episode ALONE, he's already got me saying "Okey dokey" like it was COOL or something. I don't get it either.
Well, gotta run, but good luck with that whole "keeping it real" thingy. But yeah. Take care.
Packin' heat,
