This Is What Happens When You Tease It
July 2, 2002
Well, shnaz.

I'm writing this currently on a computer that's being powered by *extension cord*, thanks to an electrical wiring screw-up that's left both me and Web Guy Josiah without power to our respective "tiny gods," and yea, without power to the room in GENERAL, so yeah, that sucks. It also sucks that I haven't been able to work on comic-related stuff for quite a while, so Annie's gotten all huffy and bothered over that, I tell you WHAT. Hopefully, the electrician will *finally* get here tomorrow and fix the problem, too late for my lovely day off but early enough for me to get a new comic made and ready for you wonderful people. Keep an eye out for it.

Sometimes the general news media makes me so fucking mad, I swear. Saw something on ABC tonight about some 13 year olds playing Grand Theft Auto 3, and how *awful* it is, and whatnot. They had a few people saying how it was positive in that it allowed people to get out their aggression without harming anyone, but they were displayed in such a negative light it was more than insulting. Naturally they also, I believe, neglected to mention that the game was rated "Mature" for a REASON, and the kids in question ideally shouldn't have been playing it in the first place, but yeah. And then there was the big argument Josiah and I had against my parents about it, WHOO boy. Annie no like-ey.

I mean, I'm not the best argument for a stable-minded individual, but dude, I'm of the belief that parents have to do a little more than whine about bad games, they've got to TAKE AN INTEREST in what their little sprouts are playing, get informed, and not be stupid about things. Give your kids at least *some* credit for not being complete dorks: they're not (ideally) 3-year-olds who will try to copy everything they see, and if they are, HELL, keep them away from basically ALL media until they wise up (eek) ::shudder:: But yeah. I played Doom when I was a little chickadee on my dad's computer for hours, and evidently he didn't even know we had the game. Things that make you go "hm." But enough of that ::getting down from high horse:: Glad we had this little chat, or something.

Been missing my webcomics so much it hurts: I swear this crappy modem connection is killing me by degrees, yech. But eh, whaddaya gonna do? ::shrug:: But enough whining for me. I got to see "Shallow Hal" yesterday (before it was even rentable, ha-ha-ha, lucky me), and it's a good movie, and yeah [I would say that it was an all right movie, would have been worth the rental had we paid for it, but not for the theatre - web guy Josiah]. But gotta go, be well all.

Start the commotion,
Annie "Blue" VM
