Technically, It's True

Boo-YAH. Back in business, and speakin' the same talk again. Woop.

Today's comic is a little something different than all of you may have been expecting, which is good, you know - keeps you on your toes, prevents you from getting too complacent or something (or at least that's what the manual tells me...). But yeah. Got a lot of comments on the particular background mentioned in today's comic - i.e. the fancy one features in the LAST one - and felt a need to do a strip on it. Hey, these opportunities come along, you just have to GRAB them, you know? In fact (not to give anything away or whatnot) these next few strips are products of that same bizarre side-note I love so well, and really connect not at all to the continuation of the MacToss storyline. But I know there are those of you out there who dislike the continuity, so you might just dig this. Hell, I know *I* think they're funny, and that's served me well enough in the past. ::smile:: Damn, but I dig you readers. You make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

My man Lem "Hot Soup" Pew (of the excellent Lethal Doses) has declared to me very recently that he intends to make good on his past promise - my "birthday present," a rather dangerous promise that I treasure as much as Gollum did HIS own trinket - of LINKAGE, so if anyone sent from his little corner of the Internet finds this, my greetings go out to you. I hope you find it fun and comfortable here. There are snacks and beanbags in the parlor. Make yourself at home ::wink::

Settling back into the whirlwind of crazy crap that is school - work study, classes, preparing for this and that, and attempting to have a LIFE in the interim - is taking quite a bit out of me, and I've been losing a bit o' the sleep lately. And as there are more than one deadly colds of Evil Death wandering about the campus and I do NOT seek to catch them, I think it best I bid you all a fondue for tonight and talk to you later. Take care.

Love And Peace,
Annie "Blue" VM

Hey everyone, I know it's been a while since I've posted any stuff here, but it's usually been because I've had stuff to do. Well, now that I'm all moved into my place out in Irvine, California I have a bit more time. Though I can't promise that'll continue forever, we'll see. So yeah. After dealing with school-based internet connections or dialup for the past 8 years of my internet experience, I've discovered the wonder of that which is broadband. That's right, the people I'm renting a room from have ADSL (It's like DSL, but it's not always on, you need to 'dial in', but it's over in 10 seconds, and you can leave it connected for days). From what I can measure, I'm getting 640kbit down and 256kbit up. Damn. After a short (and bitter) experience with a linksys wireless access point and broadband router (reception was poor...from 30 feet, and it died after 6 hours of use), we decided to just run a cable and make my P166mmx spare into a router. After a not so short experience with the included shitty PPPoE software, I went to this site for a free and sweet PPPoE driver, then to Sygate for the router software (I know that ICS is in 98SE, 2k and xp, but the p166 only has 32 megs of ram and 540 megs of hard drive, and I would have used nat32, but it sucks shit and requires a howto to set up dhcp - Sygate Home Edition just worked...it also has a serial floating around out there *grin*). Doing multiple incoming port mappings can take a while, but I like the software, much better and more professional than nat32.

Anyways. I'll finish updating the comikken so you can read it and so that I can get to writing Annie a long email. Night all...
