Whoa doggies. So yeah. Stuff.
Good response on the 100th comic, much to my happiness: people don't seem to minding these little celebratory asides, which makes me glad, as we have yet ANOTHER occasion to Get Down coming up. That's right. Next Wednesday (we'll be celebrating it Friday, as is our wont), I'm Blue will have been up for ONE FULL YEAR. That's right. Wow. Can you believe that? Hell, I *created* this bidness, and even still, it seems like just yesterday I was clumsily sketching out what I wanted the site to look like and sheepishly handing it over to Web Guy Josiah, who made the nifty spread you see before you. Funny how things change. I'd say more, but I have to leave SOMETHIN' to say next week. Sheeeeesh.
Oh yeah, and by next Friday, Web-Guy Josiah will be up here ::does happy dance:: Yeah, I like the thought of that, yes indeedy I do. Good stuff.
No sooner do I upload the comic late Monday night (a.k.a. Tuesday morning) when I check my mail and find that a mysterious reader - Lindsey "the Pixie Thief" - has bequeathed to us a particular piece of fan art she made with her brand-spankin' new Wacom tablet. I like this VERY MUCH ::grin:: Hell, I wish *I* could've been able to create something like *that* when I first got my own Wacom tablet... but the thing is a godsend all the same, I tell you what. Boy howdy. But yes: thank you, Lindsey, wherever you are ::deep bow:: Domo arigato to you and yours.
Man, I am such a total sucker for fan art: you guys have no idea how much it makes me grin and run around in happy circles in my brain to see any of my characters drawn by anyone else, to see what they envision them as. It's a nifty way to realize what people notice the most about each character: if they're playful, elegant, dangerous, whatever. It's not an ego thing: I've honestly gotten to the point when I feel like Blue is her OWN being - like a friend I know *really well* - and seeing people draw pics of her is like being able to get a better impression of people react to her than a simple testimony. ::smile:: But that's enough of that.
