Charity Made Easy

Whoa, folks, we're back. Not that you were scared of us leaving or anything, but yeah. Stuff. Anyhow... what's that?! ::jumps out window::

Kidding. But back to the verb, or rather, the linkage.

You may recall that I promised you all that I'd get you apology art for that mess-up with the posting a while back, and boy howdy, I have delivered. Here's not one, not two, or even three, but FOUR pieces of art for you to enjoy! Lookit all their majesty

  • [link]First is a little scribble-comic I put together at about 2 AM, when I was feeling more than a little tired and wacky and you get the idea. This is suprisingly good considering not only that, but that the "storyboard" ideas for many of the strips you see here twice a week actually start out looking even worse than this. It is also a warning not to walk near me with a food substance of any kind when I am typing away in a weird mood, or you might get said foody substance suddenly eaten by me, a fate my dear Web Guy almost suffered. But yeah.

  • [link]More with the crazy stick-type figures, this one drawn just after the comic you see linked above... and actually, this was inspired by the nifty strip The Devil's Panties, an excellent comic that you should check out RIGHT NOW because it is wonderful and full of delectable evil. Muhahaha. I also feel I have much in common with the main character (the whole drawing-likes comics-being a girl-bein' short-preferring men's shoes and all that. I just don't rawk as much ::sad face:: But anyhow)

  • [link]Next is the preview costume design I did for my VERY FIRST D&D character, Sierra Aviala... this spring break when I visited my parent's house, I did the dirty work of going through all the leftover crap in my bedroom and decided what to toss, keep, and take with me. I found Sierra's character sheet when I did so: a 7th level thief, 1st edition D&D, whom I created when I was ten years old. I took one look at her, and instantly decided I wanted to update her to 3rd edition and give her all the badass skills she should have. And so last night I did. Upon the advice of a friend (who said she'd be closer to 12th level in 3rd ed.), I made her a 7th lvl rogue / 4th level sorcerer (I was conservative and made her 11th). You have a character portrait to pick, too, and I've always drawn my own since the beginning of time, so I started working on one... but I knew she had to have a badass nifty outfit, so I drew this before I finished with the larger picture so I had something to refer to. And thus...

  • [link]...I got this, the final result. We likes it, my precious, yes we doooooo. I also think her weasel familiar is just PERFECT... I wanted to make it a ferret, but I think I made her look enough like Kiki from Sluggy Freelance to make it good enough. I imagine Feydarkken would be a little less hyperactive, too. For what it's worth.

  • And in case you were wondering at the end of all that, yes, I'm a fucking NERD. And I love it. WOO!

More deliciousness: observe thusly. My dear informant Skrat has brought to my attention the screenshots and preview of the new Metal Gear Solid Game... MGS3: Snake Eater. And I tell you what, boys and girls, this game seriously looks badass like a picnic, like that one friend of your older brother's who was always the coolest and didn't mind if you sat in the room and listened while they played through the Storm Giant's Castle module. ::blinks:: No, wait, that was Skrat. No, seriously. MGS3 looks absolutely gorgeous, and the gameplay sounds nothing short of groundbreaking. If I didn't think I'd absolutely SUCK at it the moment my hands touched the controller, I'd tell you right now that I'm for sure buying it and kicking its ass. All the same, though, I might just get it because it looks so neat. And as for Skrat, look for him in the future, because what with the new revisions and all, he might just be popping up now and then to let us poor humans in on some nifty reviews/sneak peeks/whatever on things he finds cool. But yeah.

Oh dear, I almost forgot about Eidolic Fringe, a really keen nifty good manga-style webcomic that I've been digging for a while but unfortunately keep forgetting to mention (except right now when I just did, wheeeee). You should all read that, it's a compelling story with some nifty funny parts, going from what you think is standard shojo into some unique and clever stuff.

And while we're on the topic of new comics, word is from Zach Stroum - the man behind the hamsterriffic (::trumpet wail:: "wa-WAAAAH") Shaw Island that the comic is actually SPLITTING, separating the previous community of man and talking hamster in twain: Ben residing now (apparently) in American Animétion (wherever that will be), and the hamsters continuing their residency at Shaw. I know that may not seem like something to write home about, especially for those of you who don't read it (FOOLS!), but that a webcomic artist is actually starting a whole new spinoff strip in ADDITION to their regular one... this is lunacy I tell you! ...No, wait, it's not lunacy, it's just so against the usual trend of webcomics dying out here and there that it stuns me like crazy-go-nuts. Well, I like the idea, because I like Shaw, and more Shaw-related-goodness = more goodness in general, so more power to you, Mr. Stroum. I'm behind you all the way, you crazy guy you.

Wow, I think I've yapped for a long enough, so I'll let you all go so you can have lives and I can play more Planescape: Torment. Yippee! Take care peeps.

You'll finally be that woman, yes
    Finally be that woman
That's been frozen in the pretty silver girl
