This Is What We Call Getting Carried Away
August 12, 2003
Yes, today's comic IS about the show Trading Spaces, and you should all be happy about that just because. For those fools not acquainted with the show, it goes like this: two couples/friends/roommates/whatever who are living in the same space join up with two OTHER couples/friends/roommates/whatever who are living in the same space and agree to redo each other's rooms. They switch rooms, and each couple gets a designer picked for them (and one carpenter to make projects for both rooms, so they need to share) and only $1000 and two days to totally redo each other's space... and neither couple knows at ALL what their place is going to look like, and they can't see what it will be like or learn anything about it until the two days are up, and the host brings them in to "reveal" the room. Let me tell you, some of the designs (from the eight designers: Vern, Laurie, Genevieve, Kia, Doug, Hildy, Edward, and Frank) have run the gamut from unbelievably beautiful (i.e. Vern's work) to eye-bleedingly hideous (i.e. Hildy's work), and the show is always fun to watch, at least for me. Yes, I do yell at the television, but unlike Blue, I'm much less inclined to shriek insults and more apt to yelp about how wonderful the design is... well, I suppose it really depends on the episode, but yeah. You should all go and check it out for yourselves and see what I mean. But anyhow.

Er, fudge. Still looking for a job, after all this time. Is very frustrating. Wish I could get GameSpy to hire me, as I want to work there so bad my TEETH hurt thinking about it (for some reason). Anyhow. Still hashing out design ideas for the new page... but rest assured, you'll know when it happens. ::wink:: Be well, folks.
