Just in Case He's an Asshat

Hey folks. Just coming over the intercom once more to remind you that yep, there's someone up here surveying all this and noting it down and such. Or something.
Not much to report, really. Am working hard to insure that you have your fill of comic goodness even when I am out-of-town next week, so yeah - trust the Annie. ::grin:: Also, read everything you can on insert credit, because I have decided they are a pack of demigods. No, really. They have entirely succeeded in making me 1) want to be a better writer and 2) write for them. NOW. This is a process that the smart side of my brain, the part that took the SATs, knows takes actual time, but the dumb/impatient side is like "WRITE THEM AND ASK IF YOU CAN WORK FOR THEM NOW-NOW-NOW!" When I do finally bother those gentlemen for a occasional writing spot, you can bet that I'll have something more under my belt than just a wild hope they'll accept me and only the vaguest idea of what I'd ever write about.
Seriously, realizing that this was a process that will take months rather than days to complete is something that made even the SAT part of my brain very, very sad, but hey. It's not just journalism these guys are doing, not just the reporting of facts. They're not just using their brains form words and their fingers to type them out. Heart is in there too, cunning conclusions, and a quest to search for the "soul" of a game, that something deeper that makes it truly last. People can find that, sure, but few can articulate it... and even fewer like these fellows can. I want to make sure I can do that, I mean really do that, before I bother them to join their ranks. But anyhow. Enough said.
Argh, my back hurts like I got sucker-punched in the spine. Bleah. I'm going to nurse myself back to health by curling up with Jonathan Lethem's Gun, With Occasional Music. ::grin:: ::wince:: I'm off to heal. Take care.
This Is Your Captain Speaking,
Annie "Blue" C
Maybe they'll come back again
Maybe they're all gone
One day you'll find me
Sending their message strong
