Back again, like I always am. Nothing like it in the world, I tell you what.
Ah, ninjas. Nothing quite like them, either. I tried drawing them in Blue-esque style at first, but something about it didn't seem right... I dunno, maybe I've just been seeing too many people playing I Ninja at GameStop... couldn't tell you, but to me, the way they are in the comic seems like that's how it should be. I also meant to make it more obvious that the victorious ninja bears certain similarities in costume to Blue's ninja gear, but when I tried to color him so said resemblances were obvious, it looked lame... so there you go. Behind-the-scenes look, everyone! ...Heh. Like that's any different from me whining about the comic regularly... er, I mean, it IS! It totally is! Heh-heh! ::looks frantically around and darts out of room::
Been playing more Castlevania: Lament of Innocence - a LOT more, as of today - and let me tell you straight-out, this game has its problems. The 3D environment is beautiful, but the lack of player control over the camera (plus the requirement of many things only allowed to be done with the somewhat cumbersome "real-time" menu on the right analog stick) makes it seem a bit flat, which is okay usually but becomes a fucking beast when you try to deal with the game's many jumping/whipping puzzles (i.e. jumping and whipping). It's a shame that when you want to interact with the environment usually, the game won't let you, but when you need to (like making a delicate jump - which usually starts by hopping on something small, or pushing down a button), it's bloody impossible.
Don't get me wrong here: I wasn't playing Castlevania: LOI for some bizarre experiment. I was playing it for so long because all in all, it's a fun game. A fun, and at times, very frustrating game. It's got its problems, though, and it's definitely not a game for beginners - you'll tear your fricking hair out before you really get anywhere - you've got to sync with the system, or you're doomed to suck. Honestly? It's worth a try. If you've got a PS2, I say run to Blockbuster or something and rent it, play it for a while, and if you find yourself still playing it after three hours and eager to explore the rooms not on the map (and not going insane from lack of camera control), drop the $50 to buy it. It's no Symphony of the Night, but it does well enough.
Quick thought: I find it kinda funny that in the beginning, I wanted I'm Blue to be more about games, even though I didn't have any time to do much gaming in my real life. Now? The comic isn't so much about gaming as it is randomness having to do with a gamer, and my life has much more gaming in it. Funny how these things work.
::stretch:: Ah, time for the goodnight express. Hope you people enjoy your extra-large serving of the funny for today, take care, and be well. Bloop.
