Lets Hope It Doesn't Turn Out Like That

Please, please, PLEASE DEAR GOD, don't let Final Fantasy VII-2 turn out like this. PLEASE. It doesn't make me happy, in light of today's comic, to see character concepts for Final Fantasy XII where the female lead is wearing a skirt that is hardly bigger than a hankie (and the "male" lead is fricking scary! Eek! It's like they chopped off the head of a 9-year-old girl and put it on the body of a 19-year-old guy! YIPE!)... not to mention that in Final Fantasy X-2, apparently there's a minigame where one has to give Leblanc - a female villain - a fucking massage. ::shakes head:: I don't like to go all foaming-at-the-mouth here, but methinks that kind of game design should've gone out YEARS ago. There was an uproar about BMX XXX - and not JUST because of the Dave Mirra lawsuit regarding it - why the hell aren't people blinking at Square's new designs and going, "waitaminnit, they're setting games now like they were girly mags!" [She knows that BMX XXX isn't produced by Square, she was just highlighting that it was a girly-mag, and no one is getting down on FF games for doing the same because they are FF games - web guy Josiah] Yeah. And the sad thing? I know that no matter what I say, people will still buy it just because it's the next Final Fantasy game. I think that's insane. I mean, sure, Square has made some in-fricking-credible games, I think they deserve an off day as much as the next gamer, but this isn't an off day, this is getting stereotypical and lazy. You can't slap a chick in a thong and think you can appease a female audience by claiming "but, she's such a strong female lead!!" If she's so strong, why the hell doesn't she find herself some more damn clothes?! ::deep sigh:: Yeah. As if you couldn't tell, the issue has me riled. Good thing you get the kinder, gentler version in the comic. ::wink::
Yep, me and Web Guy Josiah is leaving today: who knows, by the time you read this, both of us could be relaxing with family in sunny AZ. But I've said it before, and I'll say it again: comic WILL happen on Friday as planned. So if you're getting tired of turkey already, never fear: you'll at least have something new here to feast your eyes on. (aren't I a prodigy with the metaphors? Go me... ::unnecessary self-congratulations::) But as stated, I gotta run - lots to do yet - but be well, all, and have a happy Turkey (or Tofurky) Day, and the goodness. Peace out.
