I Bet She Gets Security Called On Her A Lot

Yep. Sorry if the visibility on this strip is low: while working on it, I had one of my "wow the world is all blurry and tilty" spells, and being the determined dumbhead that I am, I was all "eh I'll be okay." And stuff. Anyhow. The games, in case you care, are Champions of Norrath (the hack n' slash Everquesty one), Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance 2, Ninja Gaiden, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, Half-Life 2, Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel, and Counterstrike: Condition Zero. Likely everyone knows about the Final Fantasy, I KNOW everyone knows about the whole fracas with Half-Life, and I know more than one person came in my store puzzled to see that in fact we had the strategy guide for Counterstrike: Condition Zero but not the actual game. But the other games... sort of quietly (tried) to edge their way into 2004. I can tell you I noticed, and I know I'm not the only one. These aren't the only games that got hit by the magical Delay bug that crashed onto the gaming scene this autumn: they're just a few. An actual, full list would probably make you gasp, or hiss, or growl, or even just sigh. Maybe even a nonchalant shrug. But even the most casual of gamers has gotta admit that the sheer number of delayed games has been ri-goddamn-DICULOUS. No joke. Anyhow.
Speaking of games, Final Fantasy X will be the death of me yet. Today I was good and didn't play it until after dinner, when Web Guy Josiah - fiendish husband that he is - practically guided me to the couch to turn it on and get sucked-in. No help he is in kicking this habit... but then again, I don't plan on kicking it, or at least not anytime soon. I'd like to play it LESS, though, and when part of my brain seems devoted to pointing out things like "You know, you're NOT playing FFX right now" and "Gee! You know what would be fun? Some FINAL FANTASY GOODNESS" and so onÂ… well, things aren't exactly typical. At least not for me, they aren't. Usually that voice in my head suggests a LOT of different activities and games and actions, some of them entirely ridiculous, like hitting random people with a duck. So I guess it's good that it seems so stuck on Final Fantasy X instead of getting arrested for assault, and waterfowl, and assaulting waterfowl, and so on. But yeah.
Sleep is now tapping me on the shoulder and making those polite little clearing-throat noises to get my attention, so better go see what's going on. Take care, all.
