Hey peeps: quick rantness for now. Got the in-laws in town... yep, Web Guy Josiah's folks are here in Irvine, and we gots to make with the having fun and seeing nifty things. So yeah. On with the rant!
Actually, it's funny: both Ken Lowery (the fella what had the badass Losers giveaway a while back, remember?) and Ryan Estrada (of the wonderful nifty Gamer's Edge) told me about something going on this Saturday, the 24th, that people should know about... 24 Hour Comics Day. That is, the construction - story, pencils, inking, coloring, lettering, the whole shebang - of a complete 24-page comic (100 panels for the webcomic variation) in only 24 hours (yes, 24 hours IN A ROW, silly). Sound easy? YEAH RIGHT! ::laugh:: The whole thing was apparently started by that idealistic mastermind of niftiness, Scott McCloud, and more than a few people - from the unknown to the major names in comics (like, oh, I don't know, NEIL GAIMAN and KEVIN EASTMAN) participated (as you can see in McCloud's listing here). It sounds like a hell of a time, and I even had a germ of a really nifty idea for itÂ… but alas, I first feared that I could not participate because of work. Now, I'm not working... BUT I've got the in-laws in town. So... I guess it wasn't meant for me to join in this year. It's a bit of a shame... I'm bummed about it. BUT! There's always next year, right? AND! We can't forget the awesome people participating, and all my best wishes go to the brave contenders. Make some crazy awesome stuff, my home slices! Woo!
Well, I should be running along, but take care, be well, and be excellent to each other. ::wink::
