Bad Doggie
May 7, 2004
HEY! Big-ass important news of importantness! That fine clever fellow Ken Lowery - remember, the fellow who brought your that badass The Losers giveaway with the nifty comic stuff and the hey-hey - is AT IT AGAIN! That's right - you ready to win more badass stuff of niftyness? You ready to tell the world that if YOU had a superpower all your own, this is what it would be and what you would do with it... and get hella nifty stuff for your time?! You better be because otherwise, this won't be as much fun. Hee!

So the actual-factual grand prize IS: One copy each of the TPBs CHANNEL ZERO, PUBLIC DOMAIN, CHANNEL ZERO: JENNIE ONE, the two COURIER volumes, a CHANNEL ZERO t-shirt, issues #1-5 of DEMO, two pages of original art from PLANET OF THE CAPES, a six-issue subscription to DIGITAL WEBBING PRESENTS, and four back issues of DIGITAL WEBBING PRESENTS.

WOW. All of the works therein look nothing short of amazing, and hell, people like WARREN ELLIS say so, so there! ::nods in satisfaction:: Damn, I want me some of that! GO you fools, go and participate, before I beat you and take all of that amazing stuff! GOOOOOO!!

...Ahem. Anyhow. In OTHER news: ZotCon - the con at the University of California: Irvine put together entirely by the hard work and chutzpah of the UCI RPG club, and linked by the generosity and eternal kindness and talent that is Chris Morrison, the Daddy Supreme of Polymer City Chronicles - is happening this Sunday, May 9, from 12 Noon to 11 PM. I will indeed be holding a panel where I'm gonna be talkin' 'bout webcomics. My home-slice Angus Reid will be showing one of his hilarious-tacular films, Dopplegamer 3 (trailers to be found at the bottom of this page - be gentle!). And people are fricking EXCITED, for good reason: it's going to be the best time ever. Really. Prepare for it! It will be awesome and tremendous, and I want to meet people and sign things and sketch things and just generally hang out. Admission is TOTALLY FREE, and I'm eager for the whole thing to get crankin'. Wooooooooooooo! See, I'm already all pumped into incoherence. WOO AGAIN!!

Dammit. In sad news, Dave Kelly Central has told us that Lizard is now totally over and done with. ::deep sad sigh:: I really liked that strip - even used it as a major example in the lecture about webcomics I did for the first-year class on Superheroes that I was a preceptor for - and I wanted to tell Dave this, and now I'll never get the chance. Â…Well, I COULD, but it's kinda irrelevant now. Or something. Anyhow. I liked that strip, I miss it, and holy HELL just LOOK HOW MANY COMIC STRIPS THAT FUCKER DID! ::jaw hits the floor:: CRAP! Talk about prolific! Guess that in the big scheme of things having to do with Dave Kelly, Lizard was really just another notch on the barrel. Well, I liked it plenty fine, for what it's worth. Thanks for the good times, Dave. ::tips hat::

Oh, and so she doesn't think I forgot, no matter what:

Love you, mom. And mom-in-law. ::hug:: ::smile:: Have an excellent day of excellentness.

That's enough for me for now: be well and happy. AND GO TO ZOTCON AND GO DO THE COMICS THING. Doooooooooo itttttttttttt. You'll enjoy it! Annie sez.
