Sooo. Thanks to a very kind fellow whom I had the pleasure to meet back when I worked at GameStop (he knows who he is... this be a shout-out, yo ::grin:: ::wave::), I got into the World of Warcraft beta a short while back (not to brag or anything... ::moves chip on shoulder slightly out of view::). I've been playing more than a bit of it. It's nifty indeed. I can't give away details, but suffice to say that as my first MMORPG, it's been a great learning experience and very much full of the nifty. I do feel, though, that I need to be more proactive about interacting with people, because that's what makes online play so fun, right? I mean, I've heard many stories about running into some total dickheads online (see John Gabriel's Greater Internet Fuckwad Theory from those rascally scamps at Penny Arcade), but really, WoW seems bereft - or at least seriously lacking - in fuckwads. I mean, there was that one asshole killstealer (I'm looking at you, whoever plays Ferrell, that Tauren shithead), but I met someone on day one who saved my N00B bacon from some kind of ferocious boar-man, and later that day, spent a very fun evening/night running about killing things with another player straight outta California, who also happened to be 1) female, 2) an attendee of the latest E3, 3) a major fan of those aforementioned PA guys who was there to get a comic signed, and 4) a fellow fan of the study of English. We spent a few minutes previous to running about killing things just discovering the emoticon menu, and if you'd looked at us from afar, you'd have seen two Tauren females doing bizarre things like Riverdancing, laughing loudly at nothing, and acting like chickens - to name but a few. So yeah. The fellow Tauren player - I'll keep her info confidential in case she doesn't want to be seen with me ever, heh - is fully awesome, and I look forward to maybe kicking the stuffing out of some particularly nasty cougars with her or whatever. Should you be in the Mulgore area, I should point out, you might want to look for a feisty female Tauren warrior ('round level 10 or so) by the name of Pasiphae. We'll go PWN some critters together, mebbe. Just give me a bit to get used to the menus. Damn things are confusing.
Ah, Memorial Day weekend. I have no idea what I'ma be doing this weekend, other than a barbeque tomorrow sometime, and then probably things that involve me staying away from public places for fear of getting mobbed. Like Black Friday (the Friday right after Thanksgiving, when EVERYONE decides to do allllll of their Christmas shopping in one damn day), retail is a mess with sales, and beaches and parks are clogged with folks trying to kick it for a 3-day weekend. ::shakes head:: Wish the weather out here was better, thoughÂ… it should be in the 80's, but it's been gray and 60's here. But heh. Someone in Southern California whining about the weather. We had a word for those people where I went to college. I believe it was "GODDAMMED WHINY BITCHES!" ::chuckle:: So yeah. No more whining from me. And, methinks, no more rantage for now. Be well, folks, enjoy the weekend. Peace out.
