Cancel The Moving Van

Argh... yet another rant where I end up whining about how tired I am. But with it comes that sense of accomplishment, which is good: I finished two rather complex comics today - the one you see before you today, and Friday's (which I will warn you is a proverbial doozy) - in preparation for my parents (and their new dog, Houston) arriving for a weekend visit. Yay for parental visits. I can't think they'd mind coming out to Irvine for a weekend, either, daughter and son-in-law aside ::grin:: But yeah.

In other news. I accidentally beat the crap out of a couple toes on my left foot. WTF? you may be asking, but yes, it's true. I had a CD boombox placed at the entrance to the hallway in my & Web Guy Josiah's apartment, sitting atop a footstool that Josiah stubbed his foot on more than once. Many times he complained that it was precariously placed, at which I laughed, teased him for his poor sense of placement and object mapping, and refused to move the footstool. And then Sunday night, after a LONG bout of World of Warcraft - and after Web Guy Josiah had fallen asleep - I get up to throw away my empty Coke can and... I smacked my damn foot on the stool. Not "sort of hit" or "kind of whacked," I NAILED that fricking stool, and proceeded to stumble around cursing, and my pop can flew out of my hand and smacked the other cans in the recycle bin with a loud CLUNK. Josiah, sweet man that he is, came out to aid me, and as soon as I saw him I remarked, "The sound you just heard was me being hoist by my own petard." No truer words have yet been spoken. The CD player has been moved to the bookcase, and I am currently nursing two hopefully-not-broken-or-anything toes atop a bag of ice as I write this.

Once again with the mentioning of the 2003 Cartoonists' Choice Awards. Because the idea of this comic even being nominated for anything sends me into fits of giggles. Just imagine! Teehee.

Well, I should be going, because my toes need attention. Damn footstool came out of nowhere.

Peace.
