Triple Word Score
June 25, 2004
Hey folks. Had a smashing time in Arizona - positively nearly illegal loads of fun (in terms of metric loads and all that, not the type of fun being illegal or anything, which it assuredly wasn't) - and so forth. Saw many dear and wonderful people, including my family, which was wonderfultacular.

HOWEVER. While I was there, a very sad and terrible thing happened. My dear friend Diane's house got broken into, and a good deal of her stuff stolen. Ordinarily one can count on insurance to help them out, but the thief(eves... dunno if there was more than one) swiped just UNDER the limit in damage, so if she tried to claim the loss it would result in her getting royally fucked-over by her insurance company, the bag of bastards, and yeah. So she sadly has to take this one where it hurts.

BUT. I'm not going to take this lying down. I'm not a superhero, I can't catch the bastard what done it, but I CAN help try to make it better. As I told Diane, there are things one can't replace, but the things one can... I'm going to try to help with.

This is where you folks come in. See, you DID have something to do with it after all! Jolly good woo! You helped raise money for another friend of mine that was in need, and I'm hoping we can do it again.

WHAT I'M GOING TO DO:
* I have opened two new Cafepress shops, selling merchandise of the types listed below (the "Squee!"-scrabble line and the Duo-related "User Unfriendly" line), and every sale in those two stores will go to the fund to help out Diane.

* I've done it before, and I'll do it again: if you'd prefer to donate to my PayPal account:
I'll work up a wallpaper for those who donate over $2, and start sending out original templates starting at $10. For $25 - a first-come-first-served deal - will be the original templates for Blue & co's adventurers (i.e. the drow bard, the cleric, the elfling, and the fighter). So, WOO.
* Finally, because we love him so (and I can't ever sell anything with him on it), I'm going to be attempting to make a little Booger plushie... that's right, your own toy baby Metroid to love and hug, made (likely a little haphazardly) by yours truly. I don't know how well this is going to work out, but I'm going to put a bunch of time and effort into the attempt, and then auction off the result. Whoever donates the most to the cause (i.e. wins the bidding) gets the lovable little guy. Can you all say SQUEEEE!!!

Anyhow. Please, you guys, donate what you can: both Diane and myself would MUCHLY appreciate it. And seriously, I'm going to get me one of those Squee Ringer Shirts, prolly in the mint/avocado and maybe even the salmon/pink (I liked pink much better before it became a lifestyle, you know?). At any rate, it looks mighty nice, and I advise you blokes to get buyin' and nab yourself some nifty summer gear, and help someone in need out in the process. How can you say no to that?

Anyhow... must dash. Our good friend Sam is going to be here on Sunday - returning from his semester abroad in New Zealand - and much must yet be done to properly celebrate his arrival. I sense much gaming ahead, and yea, it pleases me GREATLY. Peace out, everyone.

The Master of Kung-Fool,
Annie "Blue" C
