A Subtle Sign

Hey peeps! Short rant tonight - I know, I know, I promised a chunk of funny, and I'll deliver it. Part one of the funny is to read my comic. Got it? I hope so, or things look bleak for you from here on out. But moving on!
Part TWO of the funny is to read Punks and Nerds, the latest offering of hilariousness from Josh Mirman (you know, guy who makes Stubble, which is also awesome though maybe not as funny, and not because it doesn't WANT to be, just cause that ain't the way the story goes, okay? Jeez).
And then of course, as a final serving - and don't you dare say you're full! - is the succulent tender hilaritude (YES that IS a WORD) of Rob and Eliot, whose work you may have recently seen in the form of a whole WEEK of guest comics for Sluggy Freelance (from August 30th until September 5th).
If you're still hungry after that (and have a good damn fast Internet connection!) I suggest you search out, download, and watch the music videos of the enormously-talented Spike Jonze (whom I didn't know was married to Sofia Coppola! Any baby they have has to make the most bitchin' movies EVER, because it's in their blood and they can't frigging HELP it). I love the man's work like crazy-go-nuts. For those not "in the know," he directed that one video, you know? That ONE video? That was cool? ...kidding. Seriously, he directed Fatboy Slim's "Weapon of Choice" - that featured none other than Christopher Walken dancing like a mad fiend and is more awesome than a big ol' Awesome Pie with Coolness Topping - as well as "Sabotage" back in 1994, that one Beastie Boys video that was like the beginning to a 70's cop show. Beauty. I can tell you also to search for his version of Fatboy Slim's "Praise You" - which features him in one of the crappiest-but-most-in-the-moment dance troupes EVER and spastic dancing by the man himself to match - and his take on Weezer's "Island In the Sun," which is so good that it can bring feelings of joy, childlike wonder, and love for all humanity in the hearts of even the most jaded of peoples. I lie not.
Also, while we're on the topic, Electric Six - in addition to being the funniest fucking band EVER - also has some dammed funny videos, of which "Dance Commander," "Danger! High Voltage," and "Gay Bar" I most strongly recommend. WATCH THEM!
Well, that's it for me, and my input of funny. If that doesn't satiate you... well, we've got archives, and will be back on Tuesday. Honest. Keep it warm for us.
