Gotta Keep The Creepy Voice In Shape
November 19, 2004
Hey peoples. This is Captain Early-Update Annie, because as of Friday morning at 8 in the AM, Web Guy Josiah and I will be winging out way to a two-part trip of Minnesota and Arizona for to see our friends and families, and also to pick up some Interesting Shit, as always happens on trips. Kittens are going to be ensconced in the capable hands of the loyal and kind friend Lauren, whom they've taken an instant shine to (although send her happy wishes, people, because those two adorable kitties are walking Poop Machines). Comics are ready (with no help from YOU - honestly, I should sic Web Guy Josiah's Wangzilla on you, THEN you'd be sorry... ::sniffle:: No, I'm kidding. I love you all and would never do that to you, ever), although because of the work schedule becoming more on-target (i.e. less time for Annie to do comics at work), I'ma probably give you filler - but GOOD filler - one of these days. So you know. But yeah.

Quick notes: remember that story I told you about last week... about the spouse of an employee at Electronic Arts who posted in a blog about how horribly they were treating their workers? Well. It seems more than a few people - no, I mean even MORE than last time - are taking notice. Not only has the lawsuit against EA gotten a LOT more press, but more than a few articles (including this one from CNet) have been written on it, and the IGDA (International Game Developers Association) has drafted an open letter about how the lowered quality-of-life in the industry is holding back its progress severely. This is some serious shit right here, and if you consider yourself a gamer in any way, I do ask again that you remember those who work their asses off to make the games you love. Again, I'm dammed lucky to work in such a wonderful place, and I'm dammed lucky to be in this industry, but you've gotta admit that working 7 days a week for 70-80 hours is unconscionable, no matter what you're doing. Anyhow.

HAPPIER STUFF!

* on the lighter side of games - albeit still intellectual - is the webpage of Nich Maragos (who works for the very nifty 1up.com), and his study of Videogames as a Narrative Medium. This stuff makes Annie a happy, happy panda. Murrrr. ::grin::

* Behold! Han Solo in Lego carbonite! Swwwwwwweeeeeeet.

* I must have a secret, bookcase-hiding door in my house. When I get one that is. A house, I mean. Oh hell, just check out the link.

* SEE! The Infinite Cat Project! Let me assure you that although the number of cats there yet might not be infinite, there are indeed quite a lot of them! And hopefully soon, Doki-Doki and Abunai will be on that list. Wha-hey!

Well, that's it for me. Be good, all, and apologies in advance for shorter rants, wherein I will be in another state likely bugging Web Guy Josiah to let me borrow his laptop for a few minutes to tap out something witty and wee. But yeah. Take care!

She should have let me draw Wangzilla. Then you guys wouldn't ever let a vacation pass without some guest strips/art. Bitches.
