Second Chance
April 19, 2005
And again I come to you in supplication, folks, for the lack of rantage and the late updates. I am still wrestling with the madness of the milestones at work, like THIS (presuming the milestones were a giant hairy evil snake). Yep, apology art right there. Hastily done, but I was not actually late per se, and it does harm our friendship so to split hairs, especially when you KNOW I love you all so. I would not give you comics like today's if I did not. There will be epilogue to this, but we all crave moments of joy, and this was the one I needed. I hope you all will agree.

ANYHOW! It also seems we are long overdue for our fantabulous LINKSTRAVAGANZA! An banquet of Internet delights and horrors awaits!

* First of the drawing nature: Paint Pixel is an impressive little site for the anime aficionado, and the first to have me look at a picture of a DragonBall Z character and nod with silent impressedness. And I don't even know if that is a word, but oh well. And there is some Cowboy Bebop and Ruroni Kenshin stuff in there that will rock your socks off. And they like Duo Maxwell, it seems, with my caliber of fervent joy, which only raises them higher in my eyes. Go and see, I exhort thee.

* So it turns out - they found this dinosaur, right? And evidently it had eggs in it. Like, in the body cavity. Now, for all the people out there who didn't almost minor in paleontology like I did, I'll just sum up the importance of this find by saying, and I quote, "OMGWTFBBQ." It is a big goddammed deal. Fascinating stuff for smartypants.

* Even if you are not militarily inclined (and trust me, nobody could be LESS militarily inclined than myself), you shall still love the epic list of 213 Things Skippy Is No Longer Allowed To Do In the U.S. Army. These are not boring, ho-hum things. I shall give you all an excerpt to convince you: "52. Not allowed to yell 'Take that Cobra' at the rifle range." The funny continues from there. Go read.

* Best Gameroom Ever. I know, I know, I thought my little entertainment center was the shit, and then I saw this place. Just... yeah. "Holy shit," is the typical response from gamer and non-gamer alike, followed by the gamer drooling a whole lot. If you are a gamer (and probably you are, if you are here), take that as an advance warning and pack a napkin.

* Alert: funny video. Will make guys scream in sympathetic pain. Non-graphic. I don't even know if I can explain this one, just say: condoms in a car door. Don't mince words, don't second guess, just go and see.

* Star Wars Episode III: A Lost Hope. One of the funniest Star Wars parodies I've ever seen. I shit thee not. Any attempt by me to explain the funny of this would make it less funny, which would totally be horrible of me. And I am not horrible. Evil yes, horrible no. But yeah. SEE.

* Something Awful Photoshops Choose Your Own Adventure Novels. Sheeeeeeit, I used to own some of those. Which, of course, makes them all the more funny. Huzzah!

* FINALLY. A vision of terror. The music video for "The Ballad of Bilbo Baggins." If you think that dude singing it looks like Spock, well, it IS (or isn't, depending on which book of his you're basing your opinion on). I don't know why Leonard Nimoy is there, really, except for maybe an insatiable proclivity for fake pointy ears. This piece of hideousness will haunt your very nightmares with its evil. Imagine the worst choreography you can think of, circa 1965, where "choreography" consisted of "bend your neck this way, then the other way, to the beat of the song, while turning in a circle with a terrifying empty Barbie doll grin on your face." In all fairness to the makers of this video, maybe it looks badass when you are high as a kite on mescaline and drunk off your ass, but to the rest of us, it's a cocktail of hideous colors and sounds that threatens never to leave our brains. But all that aside, it's funny and you should watch it. The end.

Well, time to leave you all once again. Until Friday, my chickadees. Sate yourselves on the comic and the provided links and be happy. AWAAAAAAAAAAAY!

Master of the Universe,

You'll probably notice arrows below the comic for previous, next, etc. I've been wanting to put those in for a while, and just now stopped being lazy and just did it. Turned out to be quite easy with the templating I do on my end of things (a copy and paste in two locations). Blarg. Good night.
