Bet He Doesn't Mind Those Orders by Brendan Sparks
May 17, 2005
So yeah. Gotta make this short, because we just spent like an hour driving back from the Final Fantasy: More Friends concert. How was it? Well, the video crews weren't really on the ball and thus we had a long of loooooooooooong shots of the vocalists just standing there while the orchestra played; and the sound crew had their heads up their asses with things like bad mikes, wrongly patched mikes, and poorly-grounded amps.

I felt bad about these things in particular because they stood out as water drops on the finest sheet of silk man has ever manufactured. Put in more pedestrian terms, the show rocked so fucking hard I have yet to think up a word that properly describes how fucking hard it rocked. There was the orchestra, which was amazing; then the Black Mages, Uematsu's rock band, who FUCKING ROCK SO HARD that I had to throw up the horns; then the Japanese vocalists, who were incredible; then the opera singers, who were amazing; and then they brought in a choir AND the Black Mages to play the final selection, Sepiroth's theme. And OH MY FUCKING GOD IT ROCKED SO DAMN HARD. Seriously. Beyond this there are no words: just superlatives and expletives. And lots of enthusiastic arm-waving, and jumping up and down. And the desire to just scream "YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" and not know entirely why.

But yeah. Anyhow.

Today's guest comic comes from the kind and patient Brenden "Pong," who is an awesome Dungeon Master to boot (he runs our Eberron campaign, I should note), and an all-around nifty cool guy. I really enjoy this comic in many ways, particularly for the layout, but also because the idea intrigues me. As a manner of course on most webcomics, guesties are non-canon: but I consider nonetheless.

Anyhow. Friday comic will probably either be short or contain a lot of ranting and raving about E3... you will get that sooner or later. In the meantime I shall down get ready for bed and sleep, because dear Jeebus, oh the Tired. And remember: me, South hall #846, 2:30-5 PM on Wednesday, come and visit. Be good, all.

Supertacular,
