Not A Cozy Position

Greetins', ladiez und gentlemints. I apologize for the look of Link today: there are two factors at work here.
FACTOR THE FIRST! Link - as I have taken his current design from the upcoming game, The Twilight Princess (as the last one took from an updated version of his Ocarina of Time garb, as seen in the GameCube version of Soul Calibur II.
Yeah. Fitting that into my sketchy hack-tastical art style... there are always some issues I'm going to have with how it looks, with how it turns out. There's a lot of detail that needs to be cut from it in order to keep the construction of the comic within its usual 4-6-hours-to-make time bracket (yes, 4-6 hours or so, with the sketching and the scanning and the redrawing and the modifying and the coloring and the resizing and all... I know a talented artist could do what I do in no time, but hey - I've always SAID I'm a hack, haven't I?), and cutting that detail pains me. Hell, I barely kept myself from shading him like I did with the last Link (shading alone adds like an extra hour at LEAST... because it's not just Link I need to shade, but then Blue, and whatever else is around them). I mean - LOOK AT THAT ART. That's fuggin' gorgeous... and the thing about it is, it's art meant to be seen lushly, with shadows and highlights and combined colors and the hey-hey. I can't make that for the comic. And it does pain me. Anyhow.
FACTOR THE SECOND: Do you have any idea how HARD it is to draw someone in that position?! Especially for a hack like me! Honestly. Hell, I don't even know how anyone - Sam Fisher or no - can do this for any period of time.
OW. That is what I say to THAT.
BUT! I have tasty LINKIES for you (and no, I don't mean the Hylian elf-type): enjoy!
* You MUST download and listen to all of this: it's the music from Super Mario World, redone in many beautiful and inventive ways by the talented Jason Cox. Short and sweet, and lovely to listen to. Grab it!
* YIKES. A catfish the size of a grizzily bear was caught in Thailand. If you don't believe me, scope out that picture along with it. SO MANY FISH STICKS. Whoa. Cajun-style fish fry, GO!
* Interesting article on gaming and gender in 1up.com: not my super-most-favorite article EVER, but enjoyable food for thought indeed. I like me the 1up.com features, yes I does ::grin::
* Filthy zombies! Always lying in wait to eat brains and cause havoc! If you live in fear of a zombie outbreak, then the Zombie Preparedness Initiative is for YOU. Everything you need to take out those brain-eating undead bastards is (or will be) in there. Spread the word!
* Hold it, hold it. You mean... this is a keyboard where each key is a stand-alone display showing what each key is controlling at that very moment? Oh MAN. The possibilities for this here "Optimus Keyboard" are deliciously infinite... and damn I want one. Ooo!
* You should visit the Video Game Ombudsman because the site is funny and informative. Annie gives it her approval. Huzzah!
* Behold The Webshite, another random site I find amusing! Whoo-HA!
* AND FINALLY: people are dumbÂ… a teaching group is considering banning the word "Fail." I'm all for being considerate, but come ONNNN. Gotta draw the line somewhere, and believe me, these people have long ago crossed it and never looked back. If you fail, you fail. End of story. Grade ain't gonna change, lack of passedness is the same. And jeeeeeeeeeeez, it's not like the grade is "stop being stupid and get a better grade, asshole" (probably because that would look very cluttered on a report card).
Anyhow. REMEMBER! Still need those guest strips! Annie gonna be in Hawaii next week, but this here comic will still be updatin' (Bob willin' and the crick don' rise and all that). See you all on Friday and GUESSSSSST STRIPPPPPPS. Rawr.
