Guest Strip by Barry Neeson - why Yes, She Does
October 6, 2006
Once more Barry saves my ass, in the continuing saga of Blue, the guys from Hungover (the webcomic that Barry really needs to get back to doing one day... probably after he's done making guest comics for lame webcommikers with no time... ::cue sheepish look::) and the Magical Beer Scooter. HILARITY!

Speaking of being a slacker (albeit one who seems to have brought home an unexpected "present" from Arizona - some weird kinda throat gunk/coughing doublefuck combo), I am going to throw out from some goodness from the Interwebs in yet another LINKSTRAVAGANZA!

* HOLY CRAP! At long last, Brenden and Jon (of this guest comic's fame) have unveiled their own awesometacular webcomic, Monkeys Are Always Goo. READ IT! It is most excellent.

* Completely Uncalled For. But deliciously funny. WATCHY!

* Even though it's mostly about the Alliance, if you even KIND OF like World of Warcraft, you should read Dark Legacy Comics. Yay art, yay writing, yay all around. And I think we can all drink to that. (or maybe just me. A lot. Goodbye, pants!)

* Am I the only one who remembers those old books based on Nintendo (by which I mean NES) games? 1up.com's feature on them is stuff you should READ, yo. Interesting article, but man, I remember the MegaMan 2 and Castlevania 2: Simon's Quest books (although I think I had the Wizards & Warriors one too) and I remembered them fondly for the following reasons:

1. Mega Man becomes, like, a CYBORG. I totally always saw him as a cyborg and not a robot, because I was 9 years old and Reason was like a distant, foreign land that I had heard about but never visited.

2. In the Castlevania book, the main character is a kid that gets sucked into the Castlevania world and hangs out with Simon Belmont, which I determined would be SO TOTALLY RAD that it broke the Radnessometer cleanly in half. It was a feat of radness eclipsed only by being a ninja like Ryu Habausa (yes kids, I wanted to be Ryu BEFORE he was cool... er... cool again. You know. I was jumping out of trees at age 8 screaming that I would avenge my slain father. Maybe I should not have shared that, just now), with that eclipsed by being Samus Aran (HELL YES).

The problem here is that once you read the article, you might be curious about the books. Just... don't. Take the excerpts you see there, wince a little, and go on your way. Don't follow that link to the Simon's Quest one, just DON'T. I did, and I quickly remembered that although I loved that book, I was 9, and at nine years old I can safely say I was probably entirely retarded. The book reads like something a third grader would find awesome in 1990, which should pretty much give you an idea of what it's like. I make no excuses for myself in this. But you should still read the article.

Anyhow - I'm off to slurp the best thai iced tea ever (Note: bottom of page) and scarf cough drops, and hope that my throat soon stops feeling like it's stuffed full of excitable weasels. Guck. Come to me, beverages and relaxation! Soothe my ills and return me to my usual piss n' vinegar self.

Vengeance Will Be Mine,
Annie "Blue" C

Well there she is and she's at it again

Sorry I'm updating the comic late people, zoned it last night and only just got up.
