Annie's not sick, she's just tired. I also managed to hurt the middle finger on my left hand, and getting her to do the dishes out of turn is a bit like bathing the cats. They resist until they are wet, then grumble and look at you like they are going to kill you. "But baby, I wish my finger didn't have this wound, I'd rather be washing the dishes than dealing with it!" That doesn't go over very well. "No officer, I got this black eye falling down the stairs." That excuse only works so many times before people start asking if you need help. I don't need any help, I just need hugs and your money.
