Hard to Find Volunteers for That
February 23, 2007
And so we move on - I myself ran into this show shortly after New Year's, and it is seriously damn PREPOSTEROUS awesome (which is weird, since not only is it shown on G4, but during the most lame-ass Adult Swim ripoff wannabe segment). The courses are insanely difficult - you get one shot, and one only - and even the all-stars wipe out in the first round if they let their guard down. The show has been running since 1998, with 17 competitions... and in this history of the series, TWO PEOPLE have successfully beaten the course (Kazohiko Akiyama in 1999, and Nagano Makoto this past October). It's amazing to watch some of these dude, and the spectacle of it - and the fact that everyone seems to be rooting for each other, that everyone wants them to suceed - really pulls you in. I don't give a shit about sports, but man, this kinda dedication and hard work makes a procrastinating layabout like me wanna get up and kick some ass. And that is a happy thing.

Anyhow - must cut this rant short for the nonce, as my friend Sam is staying with Web Guy Josiah and I all the way from finishing his Master's degree in New Zealand. So businesses, start the bidding war to hire him riiiight abouuuuuuut... NOW! Hurry before some other bitch business nabs him up before you do! Can't have that!

On Tuesday, triumphant return, yadda yadda. You kids know the drill.

Wowing the Crowd,

and to give the best I have
