Watch Out, the X-Men Are Next
April 24, 2007
I wish I were making this up - I really, really wish I were - but no, it's all entirely true (and even the dance Derec references is real). Not to crap on the band mentioned - I have friends who are fans - but seriously, there's music to listen to, and then there's the shit that you sing in that kind of setting. My contention is that the one does not fit the other, and moreover why the fuck would you DO this, what in the hell is WRONG WITH YOU. That is a hard argument to face, as my followup points are "Huh? What is your deal?" and repeatedly interrupt them by saying "HUH?" in a combative fashion and glaring, and making hand gestures as if to dare them to Start Some Shit. I feel passionately about this, you can tell. Queen of the Debate Team I was not, but you can't say that's not an effective tactic. Don't argue with the methods that work.

In related news, I had an opportunity to watch both Spider-Man 2.1 and copious amounts of Season Two of The Venture Bros, and I cannot recommend both highly enough. My Praise-O-Meter done got broke for both, it's so high - you get me? I OWN Spider-Man 2 already, and I crave 2.1: at first I chuckled at "8 minutes of extra footage," hypothesizing that it's all from Mary Jane's play - but NO. An emphatic no. It's full extra scenes, additional telling character moments, more fight scene footage, and a super-short scene with J. Jonah Jameson that I won't spoil for you but was worth the proverbial price of admission. Fucking great. And as for the other - goddammit, if you don't know what The Venture Bros is or why it's so fucking awesome, you need to just go and buy both seasons and sit and watch them and laugh until you pass out. Pure, hilarious, deliciously offensive genius. Love it so much.

You know what's fun? Tasting cottage cheese to find out it's pretty much turned, then spitting it out and getting it on your chin like you're some kind of extra-special Special Ed kid. You go, champ. Way to get that on your face. DUMBASS. Anyhow. Enough of my life! ...She said in a conversational sense. You have no call to be alarmed. Past your normal state of alarm. I have no idea what that is, only I'd hope it is low because being scared all the time is a pretty assy way to go through life. TAKE YE NOTE OF THAT, WORLD!

That's enough rambling for a night. Heed my words - and see you Friday.
